The University of Southern Queensland runs a number of events throughout the year that are open to our alumni. From the prestigious Alumnus of the Year Awards to informative workshops and industry networking events, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Events are a great way to keep in contact with your former classmates and expand your network connections, while making new friends and having fun at the same time.

Below are the key events for September and October, 2018.

6 – 8 September – Love and Information – 7 sections and 100 characters in a play which asks us to question how meaning is constructed – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

13 September – R U Ok? Day – Join us to check in with your mates on R U OK? Day – USQ Toowoomba, USQ Springfield and USQ Ipswich.

14 September – Wings of Desire – Friday at the Flicks offers a licenced cash bar, made to order cheese boards and a complimentary post show reception – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

16 September – Spring Sing 2018 – Spring Sing is Choirbolical’s signature event, bringing together individuals and groups of singers who wish to expand their repertoire, in a fun and friendly atmosphere, culminating in a concert that concludes with a massed-choir performance – USQ Arts Theatre, USQ Toowoomba.

18 September – Workshop: Learn music theory the easy way with Helen Russell – These workshops will take you through the inner workings of the music you love – USQ Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

21 September – Guitar Sessions with Doug de Vries – One of Australia’s foremost guitarists and a significant composer, Doug De Vries excels in many musical genres, from jazz to tango, choro, samba and bossa nova – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

22 September – Workshop: Archival clamshell box making with Brodie Taylor – Create an elegant presentation box for your prints – USQ Print Studio, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

22-23 September – McGregor Spring Arts Retreat – Join us in Toowoomba during the garden city’s most vibrant season for a weekend of collaboration, connection and creation – USQ Toowoomba.

11-12 October – Round Heads and Pointed Heads – Brecht’s Round Heads and Pointed Heads is a satirical parable, which follows the leaders of the fictitious county, Yahoo, who set their people against each other – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

17 October – Health and Nutrition: West Moreton Hospital and Health Services (HHS) – West Moreton Hospital and Health Services will host this one-day event focusing on health and nutrition. This event will be of interest to General Practitioners and health services – USQ Ipswich.

18-19 October – Cabaret – Enjoy the music you love performed by talented USQ Music Students – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.

19 October – USQ Education Chapter Launch – Join us to celebrate the formation of the new USQ Education Alumni Chapter and enjoy an afternoon of networking with fellow alumni, USQ staff and Education industry professionals – USQ Toowoomba.

26 October – Little Miss Sunshine – Friday at the Flicks offers a licenced cash bar, made to order cheese boards and a complimentary post show reception – USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx, USQ Toowoomba.
