The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) runs a number of events throughout the year that are open to our alumni. From the prestigious Alumnus of the Year Awards to informative workshops and industry networking events, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Events are a great way to keep in contact with your former classmates and expand your connections, while making new friends and having fun at the same time. Below are the key events for July and August 2018.
2-6 July – McGregor Winter School – The McGregor Winter Arts Retreat spans over five creativity-filled days and is held on campus – USQ Toowoomba.
4 July – USQ Singapore Alumni Chapter Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) – Alumni based in Singapore are invited to attend the EGM where elections will be held for the chapter executive committee – Keppel Bay View, Singapore.
9 July – NAIDOC Honouring Elder Professionals of Nursing and Midwifery – USQ Ipswich.
27 July – Friday at the Flicks: Once Upon a Time in the West – Enjoy a comfy seat, a glass of bubbles, and the opportunity to enjoy a significant and challenging film from cinematic history – Arts Theatre, USQ Toowoomba.
17 August – Alumnus of the Year Awards – The USQ Alumnus of the Year Awards formally recognises outstanding USQ alumni for their achievements within their professional and personal lives and who have been an inspiration to fellow alumni, current students and the community – Empire Theatre, Toowoomba.
17 August – Friday at the Flicks: Road to Nhill – Friday at the Flicks offers a licenced cash bar, made to order cheese boards and a complimentary post show reception – Arts Theatre, USQ Toowoomba.
18 August – Brisbane Planetarium Astronomy Seminar – As part of the Festival of Astronomy, USQ will host world-leading astronomers, taking you on a journey beyond the solar system in pursuit of exoplanets – Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Mt Coot-tha, Botanic Gardens.
28 August – Red Racing Hood – Exploring themes of environmental and civic responsibility, the survival of small towns and the strength of women, young and old, this riveting tale will have your little ones falling in love with a classic tale all over again – Arts Theatre, USQ Toowoomba.
